Dave Whitehead, Personal Trainer and owner of Muscle Factory Athletic Performance has a passion for fitness that started with farm chores and fresh, wholesome nutrition that laid a healthy foundation for full body strength at 12 years old. At the barn, he learned the art of lifting weights from his father and grandfather, both established body builders in their own right. It was no surprise that Whitehead was a standout starting running back in high school, who was a part of teams that bowled over opponents to win championships for the Bantam, Junior, and Senior West Ferris Trojans teams.
Becoming a father of two boys early in life, took him off the competitive sports path and it wasn’t until 2001, when he was 26 years old, that Dave decided to be a competitive Natural-Class Body Builder and won the first of a long string of Provincial and National titles. Looking for new challenges after 8 years of success, Dave started learning more about how neurological pathways and muscle control go hand in hand when it comes to the next levels of strength and development.
Tapping every ounce of his own drive and determination, he created his own intense recovery program that re-routed nerve signals along his entire left side. Four months later, he earned silver at the Neutron Sports INBA Natural Nationals , and he won gold at the UFE Mayhem two months later.
Now, seven years down the road and still competing, Dave creates sport and body-specific programs to train elite and amateur athletes to reach their own goals and expand their own potential.
The secret to Dave’s success is assessing the neurological, muscular and skeleton-specific deficiencies off clients and then making the weak areas stronger.
Everybody Dave trains gets stronger, faster and more flexible because he teaches them how to fuel the engine so they can push their physical limits beyond their imagination.

Charlaine's passion for health and fitness started with both working in the healthcare industry and seeing her fiancé, Dave Whitehead, train clients and himself with amazing passion and devotion. She witnesses day after day what chronic illness can do to an individual's physical and mental well being at the hospital. The link between inactivity and malnourished patients is key in indicating something that needs to change.
Charlaine then became very passionate in wanting to help this world before they need to visit to the hospital. Her goal is to motivate one another to MOVE and find love in REAl food again, "it's the change we need!" Growing up living in a small town, she spent a lot of time on her bike, playing with the kids in her neighbourhood at the local parks, swimming, and continuously being involved in any sports she could try. Now being older and a mother, it can be harder. However, she has been able to compete in Figure and Physique competitions since 2013 and played soccer in our local women league for years. She then decided to become a Personal Trainer and Sport & Exercise Nutrition Coach to inform herself and to be able to truly help guide others through her and Dave's coaching at Muscle Factory.
